Portrayed by Amber Heard |
Jessica Crewe
When she gets that Christmas morning twinkle in her eyes, bad things happen. |
(The following newspaper article dated from April 2002 appeared in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and other regional newspapers, even as the story played out in news snippets in the evening news across the country.)
The conviction in the tragic double homicide of St. Louis residents Alan and Mellisa Crewe, aged 44 and 39, has taken a strange turn in St. Louis federal courts yesterday as the 16-year old defendant and daughter of the deceased, Jessica Crewe, first waived right to trial-by-jury, and is now rumored to be close to accepting a plea agreement proposed by the prosecution.
The defendant, claiming physical and sexual abuse as an aggravating factor, was arrested in November 2001 at the scene of the crime. The deceased were found in bed, stabbed to death with a butcher knife found at the scene, submitted to police by the defendant, and determined to have both the victims' blood and the defendant's DNA. Unwilling to select legal counsel, the defendant was placed in the purview of the St. Louis public defender's office, though it is widely believed that no defense has been prepared.

Watch For
- Guns, glorious guns: Crewe likes them, and owns at least two large-caliber sniper rifles: one of these is a McMillan Tac-50.
- Shabby chic/bum couture: Crewe's current cover as Toni Reynolds casts her as a shabby chic hipster chick, a veteran of second-hand stores, and wearer of shirts older than she is.
- Trash novels: They're cheap, abundant, and Crewe seems to like the ones with Fabio-looking beefcakes on the cover. For the uninitiated, that's almost all of them.
